1993 - 2005
The first generation of the Musso was a large body-on-frame 4x4. Introduced in 1993 it was designed by Ken Greenley and quickly made a name for itself by winning the prestigious Rallye des Pharaons as well as receiving the esteemed Auto Design Award at the British International Motor Show in 1994.
This generation of the model was powered by a range of Mercedes licensed engines, including a 6-cylinder Mercedes-Benz petrol engine in 2.8-litre or 3.2-litre versions.
2002 - 2006
The next version of the Musso was effectively a pickup version of the first generation vehicle known as the Musso Sports. The substantial body-on-frame chassis from the SUV version meant that there was space for a dual cab design with five seats and a large load bed.
A range of reliable engines gave it a market leading towing capacity of 3.5-tonnes, whilst its low ratio gearbox meant that it could keep going if your route took you offroad.
2018 - 2024
It was a number of years before the Musso nameplate would feature on a new generation of the vehicle, but it was worth the wait. The new version of the Musso launched in 2018 and won various awards over its lifetime confirming that it had made significant leaps forward in terms of comfort and performance.
All versions featured engines designed and built by SsangYong, which were connected to a selectable four-wheel drive system. This generation received a facelift in 2023.
